Rough Cut Ready!

Woo-hoo! Yippee! Yayayayayyay!! After a week or so of retakes (more thanks to Dave Gerhard and Chris Martin), we finished a rough cut of Twincesses for an upcoming animation festival. It was a real nail-biter, with me and After Effects magician/beloved roomie Michael Jacobson fixing some last-second post-related weirdness before handing it off to Barbara for the Final Cut finish. Besides his AE expertise, Jacobson is a awesomest photographer, not to mention a hero...



For the festival's pre-selection material, we took a quick photo of us three directors Matt Danner, Barbara Ann and me. You'll totally get our adorable reference when you see the show.

Twincessant toilings.

Including today, I've spent what feels like a 396 hour week finalizing animation and comping the exported Flash scenes into After Effects with their backgrounds and camera moves. I'm so tired. But I love our show.

I love our show because the animators put so much specialness into it. The little touches. The additions. The sheer toothitude.

Monday, Barbara's putting all 97 scenes back into Final Cut and we will take our first look at the entire thing, beginning to end. She's been doing her own toiling, over the twintastic opening title sequence which she personally created all by a slef.

And soon - post production. But now, a shot of tequila.

Animatwin!

Why are these girls so gleeful? Because animation for Twincesses officially commenced on January 15th! All of our favoritest animators are working on it – Chris “Blick” Martin (who drew the above frame), “Kentucky” Dave Gerhard, Joe “Mutha Jack” Kossuth, Rob “Rednecks in Space” Lilly, Jaime “Jaimz 57” Velasquez and Michael “Freelancin’” Huang. Two dozen insanely cute scenes are already in our hands. We so wish you could sneak a peek, but we're afraid a small taste would only leave you yearning with unfettered desperation for so much more.

We must also at this time give a shout out to production manager Mac "I Don't Really Give A ___ About Trying To Top That" Whiting, who is so all over this project it makes us weep with gratitude.
